Mahatma Gandhi remembered in a special way ...

Hi Readers ! I am back after the weekend with some special philatelic items to show you sent by our distinguished members. I have special covers here which were issued to commemorate Mahatma Gandh's Birthday in a very special way besides International Non - Violence Day. From 2nd October Indian Government has banned smoking at public places. Here is a special private cover sent by speed post to emphasize this Public Notice ( Courtesy - Mr. Shrikant Parikh) . A special philatelic exhibition was organized in Cuttack. I had given details about the exhibition in my last post. Here are some photos and images of special cover and labels issued on the occasion sent by Mr. Pradip Mohanty from Cuttack. I want to mention here that there are many mistakes in Hindi inscription given on stamps, postmarks as well as on special covers. Hindi is our National Language. We should be proud to speak and write it correctly. The recent Diwali stamp issued by India Post also shows the wrong spelling of Deepawali in Hindi ( Written as Dipawali) and the cover issued in Cuttack also shows the wrong spelling of Sanmati (Written as Sanmatee). This must be noticed and sincere efforts should be done so that such mistakes may not be repeated in future. In our regular series some FDCs of se-tenants from the collection of our distinguished member Mr. Shrikant Parikh. This is all for Today .....Have a Nice Time !.....
