XIX Commonwealth Games - Delhi 2010

Hi Readers ! I am back after vacations. Hope all of you had a fabulous Deepawali festival. I also got a chance to see glittering Diwali after a long time in Lucknow. In last few days I visited my friends and relatives and it was so hectic that I could not get any time to update my blog. I also received greetings and mails from many readers. Thanks a lot. I tried to reply all but still some are left as the number is quite big. I am just going through them. I also visited Kanpur Philatelic Bureau and the old stamp shop of Kanpur "Stamp & Book Corner" and met Mr. Arjun Ghosh. This is the shop from where I used to purchase stamps since my school days. I also purchased some of philatelic items. Once this shop was filled with lot of stamps, catalogues and other philateic items and philatelists of every age group could be seen at the shop. Now it is filled with large number of books on various subjects. There is a sharp decline towards interest in philately of new generation. Mr. Ghosh says people have lost interest in stamp collecting. Those who were very active once are not able to continue this hobby due to old age and health problems. I also noticed that Kanpur Philatelic Bureau too has a small number of account holders. But it is the duty of all philatelists to promote this wonderful hobby among people of all age groups. This is just for today. Meet our new members. Some beautiful FDCs of se-tenant stamps from the collection of our distinguished member Mr. Shrikant Parikh. More in Next ! ...... Till then ....Have a Nice Time !...
