Commemorative Cover issued by Nepal Philatelic Bureau commemorating the official visit of Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to Nepal - 3rd August 2014.

Hon'ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi paid an official visit to Nepal from 3rd - 4th August, 2014 at the invitation of the Prime Minister of Nepal, Rt. Hon'ble Mr. Sushil Koirala. Hon'ble Shri Narendra Modi, met with the Rt. Hon. Sushil Koirala, Prime Minister of Nepal, at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers at Singha Durbar, Kathmandu on 3rd August 2014. The two Prime Ministers underscored the importance of building trust between the two countries and move forward with a new vision and resolve.

Shri Narendra Modi's Nepal visit has enhanced mutual trust and confidence between the two countries and given a "new impetus, direction and dynamism" to vital ties. To commemorate the official visit of Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Nepal Philatelic Bureau issued a Commemorative Cover and The two Prime Ministers affixed the first cancellation mark on the commemorative cover during the Bilateral Meeting at Singha Durbar.

Siddaramaiah inaugurates 200th flower show at Lalbagh

Bangalore, Aug 8: Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah inaugurated the Independence Day Flower Show in Lalbagh Botanical Gardens on Friday. The Lalbagh flower show is a major attraction in Bangalore but this year, it is all the more special for it is the 200th show which is being organised here. The show will continue till August 17.

This year, the show organisers decided to make a Royal Mysore Palace and the Dasara procession with 3 lakh roses as the prime attraction. Elephants, horses and soldiers have also been made of flowers for display at the show. The Taj Mahal, Eiffel Tower and the Namma Metro have been the main themes in the previous years. Flower shows are being held in the 240 acres premises in Lalbag for 102 years now. The first flower show was held in 1912 when GH Krumbeigel took over as superintendent of Lalbagh. Each show costs us about Rs. 90 lakh Lalbagh was initially a 40-acre private garden of former ruler of Mysore Hyder Ali in 1760 and it was further developed by his son Tipu Sultan

Philately Exhibition at Lalbagh Flower Show - Bangalore

image To mark the 200th flower show,10 frames philately exhibition from KPS Members, Students From Vijaya High school & Students of Carmel High School have been Exhibiting their Exhibits on Subject "FLORA" displayed and special cover on  Flower theme will be released by Karnataka Postal circle during the event on 08/08/2014 at 11.30am. More than a million footfalls are expected for this flower show.

6th District Level Philatelic Exhibition, Jppex-2014 organised by India Post was inaugurated by Diya Kumari, MLA of Sawai Madhopur on 6th August 2014. Lt. Col. D.K.S Chauhan, Chief Postmaster General, Rajasthan Postal Circle, Shri Krishan Kunal, Collector of Jaipur, Shri Dushyant Mudgal, Director, Postal Services and Col. Suresh Gupta of Army Postal Service were also present on the occasion.
